Chhavi Kohli, Registered Psychotherapist.

I was drawn to the profession of counselling and psychotherapy after experiencing the benefits of it firsthand as a young athlete. It is hard to pinpoint the exact moment. However, I feel very content that I get to support people in their life journeys. I work relationally as I believe the relationship between the therapist-client is therapeutic itself. I have extensive experience in providing trauma-focused therapy which is client- paced, sensitive, and gentle.

I offer my support to adults and children from all walks of life regardless of gender, age, background etc.

Feeling anxious, down, depressed, stuck, curious or anything and wish to talk? Send me a hi and I will respond within 24hours.

Below are some FAQs about me and if you wish to know more, please do send an email. I would be pleased to hear from you.

I mostly  work integratively. I believe we can take what we need from all the wealth of resources available to us. However, I am trained in CBT, Humanistic Therapy, and relational therapy.

I think the relational approach in therapy is very underrated. I move beyond the conventional western set up of therapy and offer flexibility and dynamicity which is the core if humanness. Of course, there are certain boundaries that are needed to be kept in mind and are useful. However, I tend to move beyond the orthodox therapy scenario.

As a psychotherapist I do not diagnose individuals. However, I have and do work with people who have received  diagnoses. I have previously work with people who have had the diagnoses of ADHD, Autism, Psychosis, OCD, etc.

Yes. I am a registered practitioner. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My registration number is: 413450

Yes. As it is my clinical responsibility to provide the best possible care for you, I am routinely supervised.

I am a fluent English speaker. However, I can also speak in Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.

No waiting times or lists. I work flexibly as I have a fluid work approach-outside the rigid 9-5 Mondays to Fridays. Happy to accommodate you and your schedule as soon as possible.

Yes. I work outside the usual 9–5 schedule so therapy can fit around work, caring responsibilities, or other commitments.

Yes. Sessions are available online (from the comfort of your own space) and in-person in Edinburgh. I offer flexible times outside standard 9–5 hours, including evenings, and can work in English, Hindi, Punjabi or Urdu. If you have any specific access needs, please let me know and we can discuss how best to support you.

Please feel free to share any requirements (e.g. pacing, sensory preferences, or communication needs). I aim to make the space as accessible and comfortable as possible.

I love reading and painting. I am an acrylic and oil painter and genuinely enjoy doing it. Also, I am a big fan of movies and series. I love The Office, Big Bang Theory, and Brooklyn 999. Contrary to such shows I do enjoy sci-fi shows like Dark.

Send me a quick hi on my email chhavi@sparkmatters.co.uk and I respond within 24 hours! Alternatively you can send a text/Whatsapp on 07746645312 at anytime.
